- Will Chris Hemsworth return as George Kirk, Captain Kirk’s father, in Star Trek 4?
- The ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ star would have no hesitation in attending and confirms there are plans for him.
- A time travel story would bring Chris Pine and Chris Hemsworth together as a son-father duo.
Fans are eagerly awaiting “Star Trek 4”. Not much is known about the new blockbuster from the “Star Trek” universe, only that Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Simon Pegg and Karl Urban are to return in their well-known roles and the film is scheduled to hit theaters in December 2023 has.
Since “Star Trek Beyond” was released in 2016, the rumor mill has been bubbling and it’s not uncommon for rumors to have surfaced that Chris Hemsworth (“Thor: Love and Thunder”) should return as George Kirk, James T. Kirk’s (Pine) father. In ‘Star Trek (2009)’, Hemsworth played the role in a cameo early in the film. Now Hemsworth reveals he would return in a heartbeat.
In an interview with US magazine Vanity Fair he says: “There were talks about me doing the film with Chris Pine. The script was already thrown together and then everything fell apart. Should JJ Abrams call me tomorrow and say ‘ Chris Pine and I want to do it,’ I guess I’d say, ‘Yeah, let’s do it!'”
Well, if that isn’t an invitation for producer JJ Abrams to call the Marvel star and invite him back into the Star Trek universe. A time travel story would be a good idea anyway to bring the current “Star Trek” series from “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” to “Star Trek: Discovery” to the cinema.
Although the series is set in a different timeline than the new “Star Trek” films, time travel and jumps into different universes should make it easy to link the cinematic adventures with the series.
Surely we will have more information about “Star Trek 4” soon. You can while away the waiting time with other “Star Trek” releases. We’ll tell you how you can see “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” in Germany.
