  • With Amanda Plummer as Vadic, a brand new villain awaits us in “Star Trek: Picard” Season 3.
  • The villain is the captain of a Romulan starship, but she is not a Romulan herself.
  • Star Trek villainy runs in Amanda Plummer’s blood. Her father already played a “Star Trek” villain.

In a few weeks, “Star Trek: Picard” will return to the streaming service Amazon Prime Video with season 3 and, in addition to the well-known faces of the “The Next Century” crew, will also have a new main character ready: villain Vadic, Captain of the Shrike, played by Amanda Plummer .

We see Vadic in action for the first time in the trailer for “Star Trek: Picard” Season 3. However, we don’t learn much about her. Their spaceship is named Shrike, which looks like a Romulan ship. However, Vadic herself is not a Romulan.

Her words in the trailer suggest a personal vendetta against Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart): “I stab and smash everything that makes you.” She also gives a speech to her crew members that reiterates her feud with Picard.

“We will burn the earth he stands on and the night will be lit by the ashes of the Federation. But first we will have our revenge,” reads fateful! What exactly the outstanding bill is, however, has not yet been revealed.

Although the role of Vadic in “Star Trek: Picard” season 3 is new, actress Amanda Plummer is an old hand in the film business. Film and series fans know her from “Pulp Fiction”, “King of the Fishermen”, “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” and the Netflix series “Ratched”.

fun facts

Amanda Plummer’s father, Christopher Plummer, has already embodied an iconic “Star Trek” villain in “Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country”: General Cheng. The Klingon is remembered by fans primarily for his Shakespeare quotes.

In addition to Vadic, the two “Star Trek – The Next Century” villains Lore (Brent Spiner) and Moriarty (Daniel Davis) are returning. Lore is Data’s evil twin brother, who as an android sees himself as superior to living beings and even one day makes common cause with the Borg.

Moriarty is a holodeck version of the Sherlock Holmes character. Geordi (LeVar Burton) wants to challenge Data in the holodeck, but the programmed Prof. Moriarty becomes too intelligent that he becomes independent and becomes a threat to the Starship Enterprise.

How Lore and Moriarty fit into the plot remains to be seen. Are they in league with Vadic and the Shrike? Or are they even used as allies? At the sight of Lore, Geordi seems anything but enthusiastic.

The final season of “Star Trek: Picard” will be released in Germany on Prime Video on February 17, 2023. In addition to new episodes of “Star Trek: Picard” we can also expect “Star Trek: Discovery” season 5.
