In the second episode of “Star Trek: Picard” season 3, the truth about Jack Crusher’s (Ed Speleers) father comes to light. The young rebel is not just the son of Dr. Beverly Crusher (Gates McFadden), but also that of Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart). Beverly confirms this to her ex.

When exactly Jack was conceived is unclear. What is certain, however, is that Ed Speleers’ age does not correspond to the age of the role. While Speleers is in his mid-30s, Jack Crusher appears to be no older than 25. For Beverly’s pregnancy to be consistent with the Star Trek chronology, Jack would have to have been conceived shortly after the events or before Star Trek: Nemesis.
Since then, Picard and Dr. Crusher no longer has any contact, as has become clear in the new episodes of “Star Trek: Picard”. Jean-Luc Picard therefore knew nothing about the fact that he had a son for all these years.
We’ll find out how the father-son relationship continues next week on March 3, 2023, when episode 3 will be streamed on Amazon Prime Video and Paramount+. We’re also expecting more “Star Trek” releases this year!
