In Star Trek: Picard Season 3, Data’s evil twin brother returns, Lore, return. The android is once again played by Brent Spiner, and the new Star Trek: Picard trailer revealed that Lore won’t be the only Star Trek villain for the final season of the sci-fi series.
But as a well-known “Starship Enterprise – The Next Century” character, fans of the “Star Trek” universe are of course particularly happy about Lore, who has not been seen since Season 7 of TNG. But what happened to him in the meantime and how could he even be brought back to life?
Star Trek: When was Lore’s last appearance?
Lore’s last episode was the two-parter “Borg Attack”. There, Lore joins forces with the Borg and becomes the leader of a small group of Borg drones who separated you from the collective. Lore even recruits Data by luring him in with the promise of an emotion chip.
However, Lore and his Borg drones can be defeated and in the end the rogue android is disabled and taken apart. It is not clear where it was stored. Was he aboard the USS Enterprise-D when it was destroyed in Star Trek: Generations? Questions over questions – one thing is certain: someone put Lore back together again!
Star Trek: Who Reassembled Lore?
Most likely, the new villain, Captain Vadic (Amanda Plummer), put Lore back together. But we can’t say for sure. But since Vadic obviously still has an open score with Picard and wants to harm him, it is obvious that she gets support.
Star Trek: Why is Lore old? Since when can androids age?
One reason Data was “killed” in Star Trek: Nemesis is that actor Brent Spiner ages, while his role as Android Data cannot age. Now, however, Lore is back and has white hair. Why can the villain android age?
Again, there is no clear answer, but there are a few possibilities. At the end of the first “Picard” season, Picard’s mind is loaded into an android that can age. It is possible that Lore has also received a new body that is similar to his old one, but can age.
We’ll find out on February 16, 2023, when “Star Trek: Picard” season 3 starts in the Paramount+ streaming program, probably again in this country on Amazon Prime Video. Until then, we’ll list all the “Star Trek” releases for you!
