Star Trek: Picard: The season finale makes you want more

The season finale of "Star Trek: Picard" is coming up this Friday (March 27, Amazon Prime). In his old days, Jean-Luc alias Patrick Stewart (79, "Green Room") had to take care of the fate of the entire universe. The trailer for the second part of the final double episode "Et in Arcadia Ego" already promises a lot of action and an epochal battle for the future of the Federation.

Resistance is futile?

The previous nine episodes have positioned a tremendous showdown between the synthetic life forms and the Romulans. Which, as the trailer already shows, will actually come in the final. There, a gigantic space battle burns in front of Soyis (Isa Briones, 21) home planet. In the middle is Captain Picard and his small crew of La Sirena, who are desperately trying to end the conflict.

After the first three episodes of season one were to be understood as exposition and afterwards the new world and crew of "Picard" had to be found, the series got really big in the last episodes. Accordingly, the more action-packed episodes were also very well received by the fans, from the reunion episode (episode 7) with "number one" Will Riker (Jonathan Frakes, 67) and his great love Deanna Troi (Marina Sirtis, 64) remain silent.

It will go on

Regardless of how the conflict ends, "Picard" still has a lot of narrative potential. The decision-makers at the US network CBS also saw it that way and were already ordering over a monthbefore "Picard" aired in Germany, a second season. When the never-tired Jean-Luc saves human and alien lives at warp speed is still a question of the stars.
