Star Trek: Spock’s Love Stories – the unexpectedly hot side of the cool half-Vulcan

Spock has been a fan favorite since his first appearance in Star Trek. In the 1960s, played by Leonard Nimoy, who made the role of the cold-hearted half-Vulcan immortal, Spock has now also been played by other actresses. Zachary Quinto can be seen as Spock in the modern films that take place in the parallel Kelvin timeline, and Ethan Peck plays a younger version of Nimoy’s character in “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds”.

Spock experiences a lot of love and romance, especially in the modern interpretations of Quinto and Peck. So Quinto’s Spock has a relationship with Uhura (Zoe Saldana) and Ethan Peck’s Spock is stuck in a love triangle between T’Pring (Gia Sandhu) and Sister Chapel (Jess Bush).

Since the half-Vulcan is actually said to be very cold-hearted, this new development in the “Star Trek” universe could be irritating. But it’s not all that new. We’ll list all the women with whom Spock had a romance or similar type of love story over the course of “Star Trek” history!

Spock’s most famous love story is with Uhura. These are only available in the new films with Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto. The films take place in a parallel timeline, the Kelvin timeline, and therefore have little in common with the original series or the films starring William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy.

In the main timeline, Spock has had a fiancée for a long time, her name is T’Pring. There are ups and downs in this relationship, which we see in “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.” In the season premiere of the second season of Star Trek, we learn that T’Pring has developed feelings for another man and wants to separate from Spock.

Spock and T’Pring have been engaged off and on for a good 7 to 8 years. In “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” Season 2, there is a brief break in the relationship between Spock and T’Pring, during which Spock has a brief, flaring romance with Sister Chapel (Jess Bush).

We know from Star Trek that Chapel (played by Majel Barrett) has a hard time getting over her feelings for Spock, even after they’ve been apart for a long time.

Although Captain Kirk (Shatner) is known for courting a new woman in every new episode, Spock also has a love story from time to time.

In the episode “False Paradises” from the first season he meets the young woman Leila Kalomi (Jill Ireland). Leila, who fell in love with Spock at a meeting on Earth a long time ago, exposes her lover to a flower that ensures that he gives free rein to his feelings.

Under the influence of the plant, Spock confesses his feelings to Leila. However, when Kirk ensures that Spock gets his emotions back under control, he breaks up with Leila again. Even though the feelings were real, Spock chooses logic and duty.

In the third season there are two episodes in which Spock has brief affairs. In the episode “The Invisible Trap” he has to seduce a Romulan commander (Joanne Linville), but in the end he has to admit to himself that it wasn’t all an act.

Spock then has a short love story with Zarabeth (Mariette Hartley) in the episode “Portal to the Past”. Spock and Dr. McCoy (DeForest Kelley) accidentally passes through a time portal. This has an impact on both of them and Spock begins to become more emotional.

As a result of this emotionality, he falls in love with Zarabeth and she falls in love with him. However, since Spock and McCoy would die from the effects of the portal if they did not go back through it, Spock and Zarabeth must reluctantly part ways. When Spock returns, his usual rational manner returns and he soon forgets his feelings for Zarabeth.

What’s going on between Spock and Saavik?

In “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan” Saavik (Kirstie Alley) appears on the scene. It becomes clear that Spock has stood up for her and is, in a sense, her mentor. In “Star Trek III: The Search for Mr. Spock”, Spock is trapped in the body of a rapidly growing child and teenager and has to learn many things again.

Saavik (then recast with Robin Curtis) helps Spock find himself again, causing the two to form a very close bond. There is no love story in the films, but in some books the two even get married. (This is not canon, however.)
