Star Trek: Spock’s parents must return in “Strange New Worlds” season 2 – because of Sybok!

STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS

In Season 2, “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” is actually responsible for bringing back Spock’s parents, Sarek and Amanda, who have already appeared in “Star Trek: Discovery”. Because of Sybok!

  • Spock’s family dynamic is difficult. We know about his parents, half brother, adopted sister and fiancée.
  • However, we do not know how the individual members of Spock’s family interact with each other and how some relationships were ruined!
  • With “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” there is now a chance to decode the chaotic dynamic a little.

In the seventh episode of “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” the most surprising comeback was announced: Spock’s brother Sybok returns! The villain has always been given a wide berth, as the film in which he was introduced is considered an eyesore in the history of the “Star Trek” films.

But now the antagonist from “Star Trek V: At the Edge of the Universe” gets a new chance. Paramount+ has yet to confirm who will play Sybok, but he’s sure to make an appearance in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 2. So the series basically has a duty to bring back Sarek and Amanda, Spock’s parents.

Portrayed by James Frain and Mia Kirshner, Spock’s parents have previously appeared in Seasons 1 and 2 of Star Trek: Discovery. We know that Spock doesn’t have a particularly good relationship with his father. And not at all to Sybok anyway, although the two probably grew up together for a while.

Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green), on the other hand, has always had a very good relationship with Sarek. With Sybok’s return, “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” finally has the chance to shed more light on Spock’s relationship with his father, but also with his brother.

Especially since T’Pring’s (Gia Sandhu) role in “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” as Sybok’s “minder” is directly linked to the whole dynamic. A little is known about T’Pring’s relationship with Spock from “Starship Enterprise”, but what the relationship between Spock’s parents and T’Pring was like has not yet been examined in more detail.

So for Strange New Worlds Season 2, the signs are good that we’ll get more insight into the complex dynamics of Spock’s family. A start date for new episodes has not yet been set. We list you the start dates of all “Star Trek” new releases!
