The first season of “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” has now been fully released in Germany. Now it’s time to wait for season 2! The new episodes of the “Star Trek: Discovery” spin-off have already been filmed and are scheduled for release on Paramount+ later this year. There is also the first casting news!

When does Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 2 start?

An official release on Paramount+ has not yet been announced. All sorts of new “Star Trek” films and series await us in 2023, so it is difficult to say when exactly “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” Season 2 will start. Since filming has already ended, it could start in early summer 2023. We will keep you up to date!

Star Trek Strange New Worlds Season 2: Trailer

Unfortunately, there is no trailer for “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” Season 2 yet. If one is released, you will find out here!

“Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” Season 2: Cast

The Vampire Diaries star Paul Wesley has been cast as James T. Kirk for Season 2 of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. The role was played in “Starship Enterprise” by William Shatner. Kirk first appeared in the season one finale and had a warm reunion with his brother, Sam.

Also new is Carol Kane as the new chief engineer Pelia. Logically, the main cast returns from the first season:

  • Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike
  • Ethan Peck as Mr Spock
  • Rebecca Romijn as Una
  • Babs Olusanmokun as Dr. M’Benga
  • Christina Chong as La’An Noonien Singh
  • Celia Rose Gooding as Nyota Uhura
  • Jess Bush as Christine Chapel
  • Melissa Navia as Erica Ortegas

Bruce Horak’s role as Inhibitor sadly passed away during the first season, but it’s now been confirmed that Bruce Horak will return in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds – likely in a different role.

Storyline of “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” Season 2

Since each episode is designed to tell a self-contained story, there’s no telling what plotline awaits us in Season 2 of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. However, the first season ends on a cliffhanger: Una (Rebecca Romijn) is arrested by Captain Batel (Melanie Scrofano).

The reason for this lies in Una’s origins as an Illyrian. Captain Pike promises to save his first officer. This becomes particularly difficult as Pike has a romantic relationship with Captain Batel.

Star Trek Strange New Worlds: Production

Filming for the second season has now been completed, as has that of “Star Trek: Discovery” season 5. Akiva Goldsman and Henry Alonso Myers are again on board as showrunners. “Star Trek” mastermind Alex Kurtzman will remain on as executive producer.
