  • Captain Gabriel Lorca turns out to be a mirror universe double in the first season of “Star Trek: Discovery”. But where is the Prime Lorca?
  • Star Jason Isaacs has now confirmed that he has spoken to Star Trek: Strange New Worlds showrunner Akiva Goldsman about a possible return.

“Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” took fans’ hearts by storm and it turned out that the series gave fans of the “Star Trek” universe exactly what they wanted. Will this trend continue and can fans look forward to more appearances from fan favorites in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 2?

A possible candidate would of course be Jason Isaacs (“Harry Potter”) as Captain Gabriel Lorca. Lorca was seen for the first time in “Star Trek: Discovery” and was able to convince viewers who didn’t necessarily warm to the series. Lorca’s story was exciting and offered an outstanding twist.

It turned out that Lorca is actually from the mirror universe and has evil intentions. The “real” Lorca from our universe, called Prime Lorca, has never appeared and fans are wondering where this Lorca is hanging around. “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” could now answer this question.

In an interview with US magazine TheList, Isaacs now comments on a potential appearance in “Strange New Worlds”.

The story should be great. It was a great act [in ‘Discovery’]. All actors want a secret and I had the biggest of them all without spoiling it. […] Prime-Lorca is… I’m currently working with Akiva Goldsman, who has directed and written a lot of ‘Star Trek’, on a Tom Holland series, ‘The Crowded Room’, in New York. We’ve talked about Prime Lorca and it has to be at least as good a storyline as it was in ‘Discovery’.

Jason Isaacs on his Star Trek return

“I don’t want to come back just because he’s a fan favorite and play a version of him that’s not nearly as good. There should be a spot [für mich] in the many starting series! ‘Strange New Worlds’ was a massive hit, as was ‘Picard’, but whenever and wherever there’s room for Prime-Lorca, I’d be there,” promises Isaacs.

Akiva Goldsman has already worked extensively on “Star Trek: Picard” and “Star Trek: Discovery”, he is now even the showrunner on “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” and this is the confirmation from Isaacs that the two are about to return talk, a good sign. If anyone has the power to bring Lorca back, it’s Akiva Goldsman.

Already in the first season of “Strange New Worlds” numerous famous and less famous fan favorites were brought back without it feeling forced. In Germany, you can only officially get an idea of it in December, but you don’t have to wait that long for the Paramount+ streaming service to start in Germany.
