Star Trek: That’s how scary the new Gorn design looks!

STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS

The Gorn are back! The legendary “Star Trek” villains teach us fear with their new design in “Strange New Worlds”.

Warning, spoilers for “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” Episode 9 follow.

  • The embarrassing rubber costume is history! The Gorn are back and scarier than ever.
  • Star Trek: Strange New Worlds sees the return of the Star Trek villains.
  • The reptilian aliens become the greatest threat that Pike and his Enterprise have had to face so far.

In Episode 9 of “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” the crew of the Enterprise meets young Gorn. The monstrous creatures pose a huge threat and are more terrifying than ever. While the Gorn appearance in the rubber suit in “Spaceship Enterprise” is often labeled as funny today, the Gorn are developing into really serious opponents!

In the 9th episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, entitled All Those Who Wander, Pike (Anson Mount) and his crew investigate a starship whose crew is dead. We’re in for some wonderful Alien and Predator references, and it turns out the Gorn are responsible for the massacre.

However, these are not the Gorn that we know from “Starship Enterprise”, but rather young Gorn, children and adolescents, so to speak. They are more agile and significantly more bloodthirsty than the Gorn Captain that Kirk (William Shatner) fights in the episode “William Shatner”.

The whole tone of the episode “All Those Who Wander” uses the horror genre, so the Gorn’s new design fits in beautifully. There’s also a good chance we’ll see the Gorn in Season 2 of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds – maybe full-grown Gorn with a new design.

A clip was also released on social media showing the new Gorn in action. La’An Noonien Singh (Christina Chong) acts as a decoy in the scene, luring the teenage Gorn in order to lead him into a trap.
