Star Wars: a series about Mace Windu? Samuel L. Jackson believes it!

What if Mace Windu was alive? In any case, that’s what his interpreter Samuel L. Jackson thinks, as he revealed in an interview for the 25th anniversary of The Phantom Menace. The American actor also shared his desire to have a series dedicated to the character. Soon on Disney+?

“He is not dead !”

According to Star Wars, Mace Windu died in the film Revenge of the Sith, where he has his hand cut off by Anakin Skywalker, then propelled through the window of a building in Coruscant by Darth Sidious, to his doom. If its ending is not actually seen on screen, it is nevertheless canon in the universe of George Lucas.

But this version does not suit Samuel L. Jackson, as he told our colleagues at Empire Magazine, as they report:

“We asked a few questions […] and he responded with a series of brief and categorical messages. Most notably, he had three words to say about Mace Windu’s death scene: “HE’S NOT DEAD!!! “”.

The 75-year-old actor, seen in pulp Fiction, Django Unchained and interpreter of Nick Fury in the Marvel cinematic universe, goes even further. When the magazine asked him if he would be interested in a potential series centered on his character, he was also categorical: “I SAY YES TO EVERYTHING!!”

A cry from the heart which is undoubtedly far from being a reality. But after the series Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka And Andorthe Star Wars universe could very well tell the continuation of the adventures of the most badass Jedi master.

In addition to its presence in the prelogy films (The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith), Mace Windu also appeared in the film and then the animated series The Clone Warsas well as in the old animated series Clone Wars by Genndy Tartakovsky. His voice can also be heard in The Rise of Skywalkerwhen Rey faces Darth Sidious.
