The Star Wars: Ahsoka series ended with an epic finale which, however, does not mark the end of the Jedi’s adventures. Enough to leave an opening for a second season? Warning, spoilers.

It’s time to end…or almost for Ahsoka! The eighth and final episode of the series centered on the famous Jedi played by Rosario Dawson is available on Disney+. But this final chapter, entitled “The Jedi, the Witch and the Warchief”, does not provide all the answers to our questions.
Enough to leave the door open to a season 2? There are chances… We come back to the outcome of this last episode, which contains a new nice surprise for Star Wars fans.
The Empire Strikes Back
In this eighth episode of Ahsoka, we find the Jedi, her apprentice Sabine (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) and their newfound friend Ezra (Eman Esfandi), on Peridea, the planet where the Dathmiri were born. They try to catch up with Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen) and Morgan Elsbeth (Diana Lee Inosanto), who are preparing to leave the planet towards Dathomir with the Grand Matriarchs.
To reward Morgan, they transform her into the Night Sister and give her Talzin’s sword. For his part, Ezra succeeds in building a new lightsaber with spare parts from his late Master Kanan Jarrus. Subsequently, Ahsoka, Sabine and Ezra attempt to storm the Chimaera, the Star Destroyer commanded by Grand Admiral Thrawn, which is docked at the Eye of Zion.

But they are attacked by Morgan and Night Troopers, possessed and transformed into a kind of zombies by the Great Matriarchs. After a long battle, Ahsoka ends up killing Morgan and Ezra manages to board the Chimaera, thanks to Sabine. Kanan’s former Padawan Jarrus then goes into hiding and manages to escape to find General Hera Syndulla (Mary Elizabeth Winstead).
It’s a losing battle for Ahsoka since Admiral Thrawn manages to escape into hyperspace towards Dathomir. The Jedi and Sabine then find themselves stranded on Peridea. But they are watched by an old acquaintance… Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen)! The latter appears in the form of a Force Specter, like Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon before him. Will the Master and Apprentice be reunited again?
The war against Thrawn and the Empire he wants to recreate is therefore far from over. Especially since other protagonists are also worth watching: Shin Hati (Ivanna Sakhno) has joined the bandits of Peridea and Baylan Skoll (Ray Stevenson) has gone towards a mountain which is actually made up of statues of the gods of Mortis.
The latter are beings from the planet Mortis, on which the presence of the Force is spectacular, and there are three of them: the Father, who maintains the balance between the Light Side and the Dark Side; The Daughter, Vector of the Light Force and The Son, Vector of the Dark Force.

In the animated series Star Wars: Clone Wars, Anakin, Obi-Wan and Ahsoka have already visited the planet Mortis. This sequence of Baylan is therefore not anecdotal and gives a clue to the true motivations of the former Jedi who joined the dark side.
But will this plot be continued? Nothing is less certain, especially since Ray Stevenson, the interpreter of Baylan Skoll, unfortunately died last May. The first episode of Ahsoka is also dedicated to her. How will they continue the legacy of this character?
This last episode of Ahsoka therefore does not really sound like an end since it still leaves many questions in the public’s head and it has not closed all its narrative arcs. So, will the Star Wars series be entitled to a season 2?
Is an Ahsoka season 2 possible?
We know since the Star Wars Celebration, Dave Filoni will concoct a huge crossover between the Star Wars series on Disney+, which will result in a film concluding the MandoVerse. Ahsoka’s adventures should therefore end in this feature film. But before finding the Mandalorian and Boba Fett, the Jedi will surely have her work cut out to be ready to face Thrawn.
It would therefore be logical for the Ahsoka series to be renewed for a second season in order to continue its adventures, just as The Mandalorian will continue with a fourth season, already written but postponed for a while due to the writers’ strike which has just ended. come to an end.
For the moment, neither Disney+ nor Lucasfilm have made an official announcement regarding a potential season 2 of Ahsoka but a publication error spotted by fans and io9 alerted them. The official Star Wars accounts published an announcement on social networks to tease the final episode of the series by indicating in a first post the “series finale”, which means the finale of the series.
These posts were then deleted and replaced by new posts in which “series finale” was replaced by “season finale”, which means the finale of the season. An important nuance which would therefore suggest that episode 8 is the finale of the season and that another season could well see the light of day.
In any case, the teams of the series had already mentioned the possibility of a season 2 if it is successful and Rosario Dawson is ready to put on her costume again in this eventuality as she explained to the magazine Empire :
“We joke about it, but I’m trying to get the positive vibes because I feel like I helped Dave Filoni make this project possible. So I’m ready. I’m excited. I’m prepare physically for season 2 and beyond! I wouldn’t mind at all.”
