After Disney bought the world of Star Wars eleven years ago, the House of Mouse made the controversial but wise decision to discard canon outside of the original trilogies and the Clone Wars series. This has significantly streamlined the galaxy and made room for new Star Wars canon without upsetting detail-loving fans – for better or for worse.
The mission certainly didn’t go smoothly, but the old Star Wars universe wasn’t perfect either. The good that was added generally turned out to be really good. Be it The Mandalorian and Grogu or Rogue One, the force was definitely with Disney on those decisions.
