Star Wars Eclipse: Totally new lore in Quantic Dream’s RPG?

With a universe as vast as that of George Lucas, there is plenty to do: new languages, unknown planets, important characters… Not everything stops at the famous films of the saga. You can find books of course, but also series and video games that all tell of new journeys. One thinks in particular of Knights of the Old Republic with the story of Revan and of course the MMO that followed, SWtOR, but more recently you can for example refer to Fallen Order and the adventures of Cal Kestis. In short, you will have understood it, Star Wars is full of characters who have not even been created yet since the imagination has no limits (apart from Disney’s agreement). We could however say to ourselves that with all that already exists, there is no point in inventing a new hope and, however, this is what Star Wars Eclipse seems to be doing, the next RPG from Quantic Dream.

The Star Wars Eclipse scenario leaked?

Although the game is still in an embryonic state of development, its scenario seems to have already been written and confirms thata new race in the Star Wars universe will be added. Many story details, including some of the main characters, have also been covered in a new podcast by Sacred Symbolsdirected by Colin Moriarty.

The journalist recalls that “This game, as far as I know, isn’t even really in production yet,” but explains in his podcast that documents were provided to him with an almost complete outline of one of the future main characters.

This character would be called Sarah and would be something of a leader in the game. She would be in her thirties, an athletic body but would mostly come from a human race never before seen in the Star Wars universe. This new race would be at the head of a sort of empire called the Zaraan.

What is this mysterious new species?

Whether in movies, books or any other media related to Star Wars, we have never heard of this species. Zaraan. Here are some details to remember according to the podcaster:

  • Sarah is proud of her political and military aggression,
  • As elsewhere in the Star Wars galaxy, there are few differences between men and women in power: they all have important roles and responsibilities,
  • When a Zaraan marriedtheir nuptials have interesting military implications as they become a unit of government that works together.
  • Sarah is just married to a certain Xendo who is much softer while she is a fanatic of violence and crime
  • Part of the game seems to revolve around these two characters and their relationship.

As a reminder, Star Wars Eclipse will take place during the period of The High Republic, the famous golden age of the Jedi, at least 200 years before the first film (The Phantom Menace) and therefore before the advent of the Galactic Empire. The “empire” in question here in the Zaraan rather refers to a faction. Of course, keep in mind that all of this stems from a document that was written before the game even started development, so all of this may very well not be included in the final title.

While waiting for more information, also remember that Star Wars Eclipse does not seem planned before 2026. To wait, however, you can play the sequel to Fallen Order called Star Wars Jedi Survivor. The December Games Awards should also give us a new insight.
