“Star Wars” films in the ranking: conclusion

All three rating systems list “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” at number 12 and “Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back” at number 1.

“The Last Jedi” in particular shows great fluctuations and ends up sometimes higher up and sometimes further down. In general, the sequel trilogy is the most mixed. While the Tomatometer and IMDb list “The Force Awakens” as the best part of the trilogy, according to fan votes on Rotten Tomatoes it is “The Rise of Skywalker” which is the weakest part of the other two.

The prequel trilogy comes out about equally well in every ranking. “Revenge of the Sith” is often found in the middle of the pack, while the first two parts are further down, mostly among the sequel films.

“Rogue One” does extremely well and “Solo” is basically always rated mediocre, although it plays a role in the film’s ranking how well the other films were rated, because “Solo” doesn’t have a bad rating, although it does he performs rather poorly in all three rankings with a constant 8th place.
