We already knew that a third opus of the very pleasant saga Star Wars Jedi was going to happen, and Respawn is officially working on it.

It was Cameron Monaghan, the actor lending his voice and gestures to the main protagonist Cal Kestis, who confirmed the good news during Comic Con 2023 in Ocala. An expected announcement, for the end of a trilogy which could however be a little different from what we were used to until then from the talented studio, to which we also owe Titanfall And Apex Legends.

Always in threes they go

As constant as we start a film Star Wars by ” A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away… », the trilogy is a very popular format in the universe of George Lucas. It could not be otherwise for its latest brand video game adaptation which is Jedi.

After Survivor, a very solid second episode but unfortunately dragged down by numerous technical problems at its launch, the end of the game left little room for doubt as to a sequel. We now have confirmation that it is being prepared thanks to the interpreter of Cal Kestis.

A slightly different episode?

This third opus could, however, present some differences compared to its predecessors. First, Stig Asmussen, Franchise Director Star Wars Jedi, left Respawn Entertainment in early September. Then, the next opus should logically be developed on Unreal Engine 5, given a release that is probably far, far away…

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor already targeted only the PC and the PS5 / Xbox Series X|S consoles, and this will obviously be the case for its sequel (unless a new generation of consoles arrives by then). Hopefully, using the latest version of Epic Games’ engine and mastering newer hardware will mean better performance in the future.

The strong evolution on the gameplay side between Fallen Order And Survivor is also a good indication of what to expect next. We can bet that Respawn Entertainment will offer us an even more grandiose conclusion for a license which has repeatedly proven to Electronic Arts that, yes, the Force is still powerful in good Solo games.
