For some time there has been information about an upcoming “Star Wars” series from “Spider-Man: No Way Home” director Jon Watts. The official confirmation followed during the Star Wars Celebration in California, during which the official title of the series was revealed: “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew”.

While the main cast will be mostly children, only Jude Law has been confirmed as a cast member so far. The series, previously known by the production title “Grammar Rodeo,” is about four 10-year-old children who get lost in the Star Wars universe.

What does “skeleton crew” mean?

“Skeleton Crew” is not only a collection of short stories by Stephen King, but also the term for the smallest possible number of employees who can keep a company running. If a shop with 10 employees has to make do with only three employees due to illness, then these three employees are the “skeleton crew”.

Watts emphasized during the Star Wars Celebration that it will not be a children’s series, although the story revolves around children. The series is scheduled to start on Disney+ in 2023, with a likely fall or winter release.
