Star Wars Outlaws: a controversial decision confirmed by Ubisoft…

Last night, Ubisoft finally gave news of Star Wars Outlawsdevelopped by Massive Entertainment and which boasts of being the first open world game in the license. The adventure of Kay Vess in the world of intergalactic organized crime was therefore entitled to a very exciting trailer, a release date and its editions were specified. In addition to the fairly prohibitive prices, what caught the attention of console players was a small mention visible on the covers which were immediately put online.

As you can see, it is clearly indicated “Internet required to install the game”. Star Wars Outlaws As a reminder, this is not a multiplayer project requiring you to be online. IGN thus contacted a representative ofUbisoftwhich confirmed that it will require a connection to install it, but that we will then be able to play offline without problem. This was already the case with Avatar: Frontiers of Pandorato believe that Massive Entertainment is the cause rather than the publisher as a whole.

Obviously, many players have made their dissatisfaction known, while others are not offended and find this normal in relation to updates, without understanding the problem that this poses… With the almost inevitable patches day onethe interest in buying certain physics games tends to decrease and it is clearly not this decision which will help, because if in the future the servers close, it will then become impossible to install and therefore play Star Wars Outlaws. In terms of preservation, this is very bad news.

Ubisoft recently closed the servers of The Crewmaking it definitively unplayable, and does not hide from being comfortable that we no longer own our game. Let’s hope that the future games in its catalog are not all affected by what could quickly become a nasty habit.

If Star Wars Outlaws interests you, it can already be pre-ordered at the house of Micromania from €79.99.
