Star Wars: Series about Obi-Wan Kenobi limited to a single season

Jedi master Obi-Wan Kenobi is known to get his own series. Apparently it will be a once in a lifetime adventure.

Ever since the Skywalker saga came to an end on the big screen, the hopes of "Star Wars" fans have increasingly rested on the series offshoots from the galaxy far, far away. In contrast to the first live-action series "The Mandalorian", which goes into the second round on October 30th of this year and has even received the green light for a third season, the planned series will be about Jedi master Obi-Wan Kenobi be designed as a one-time adventure. Who gave away the details of just one planned season? Someone who should know – Obi-Wan actor Ewan McGregor (49): "As I understand it, it will be a stand-alone season," "Entertainment Tonight" quotes him.

Like "The Mandalorian", the untitled "Obi-Wan" series will be released on Disney's in-house streaming service Disney +. When that will be the case is not yet known, but when the shooting will start: "We'll start in the spring of next year," says McGregor, who can't wait for the go-ahead. "I'm very excited about it. I think it will be great."

If viewers share this opinion, Obi-Wan Kenobi's foray into the series galaxy may not be a one-off event. Or as McGregor puts it, "We'll see. Who knows?"
