  • The Daniels are set to direct an episode of the upcoming Disney+ series Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.
  • The duo is best known for their work on the film Everything Everywhere All at Once.
  • They took on the guest direction for “Skeleton Crew” before they even started work on their multiple Oscar-winning film.

Everything Everywhere All at Once directors Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert take the helm on Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. At least for one episode.

The successful duo joined the Disney+ series production team last year before beginning work on their multi-Award-winning film, Everything Everywhere All at Once. In an Instagram story, Kwan explained how the collaboration came about.

We guest directed one episode. Jon Watts approached us a while back to produce an episode. We love Jon, we love Star Wars and we love learning about new technology and new cast and crew. So it was a resounding yes. We shot it last year and had an incredible time with the talented cast and crew. I look forward to when you will see them.

Production on Star Wars: Skeleton Crew was first announced in May 2022. The series has signed Spider-Man: No Way Home director Jon Watts and Spider-Man: Homecoming writer Chris Ford.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is set after the fall of the Empire, spanning The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and the upcoming Ahsoka series. We accompany a group of children who got lost in the galaxy of “Star Wars”. Together they look for a way home.

In addition to main actor Jude Law (“Fantastic Beasts: Dumbledore’s Secrets”), young actors Ravi Cabot-Conyers (“#BlackAF”) and Kryana Kratter (“Camp Kikiwaka”) also play in “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew”. Other cast members have not yet been announced. It is also not yet known when the series will start on Disney+ in Germany in 2023.
