Star Wars: the next films unveiled and you will be surprised!

The Star Wars franchise will grow with unexpected new films! Disney and Lucasfilm have officially announced several exciting feature films that will expand the universe even further.

Disney and Lucasfilm have made their choice. The plans for a Star Wars return to the big screen were unveiled at Star Wars Celebration, which takes place in London from April 7-10. The two firms have cleaned up the feature film projects announced in recent months.

Thus, Rogue Squadron by Patty Jenkins (Wonder Woman) and the Star Wars film by Kevin Feige (the big boss of Marvel studios) fell by the wayside. We have no more news either of the Star Wars film by Taika Waititi (director of Thor 3 and Thor 4), which would still be in the pipeline, nor of the trilogy by Rian Johnson (director of Star Wars VIII: The Last Jedi).

Then there remains another Star Wars movie that was to be written by Damon Lindelof (co-creator of Lost) and Justin Britt-Gibson (The Strain). The latter abandoned ship and left their place to Steven Knight, the creator of Peaky Blinders, for the writing of the screenplay. This feature film, directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy (Ms. Marvel), is the big winner, but not only!

Big twist at the Star Wars Celebration, it is finally a new trilogy as much centered on the past, the present and the future of the saga which awaits us! First, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s film promises to discover the creation of a new Jedi Order fifteen years after The Rise of Skywalker with a particular Jedi Master: Rey Skywalker! Daisy Ridley is reprising her role from the Star Wars postlogy.

Two other directors have been chosen for the other two films: James Mangold to direct a film on the very first Jedi in a feature film with a biblical atmosphere, while Dave Filoni will produce a film that will sound like a conclusion to the various Mandoverse events from The Mandalorian.

Four years after Star Wars IX: The Rise of Skywalker, which marked the end of the postlogy, the Star Wars universe will therefore indeed return to the big screen, through the big door and with a new trilogy.

The Star Wars franchise has grown considerably with Disney+ series in recent years, including The MandalorianThe Book of Boba Fett or Obi-Wan Kenobi, but it will return with great fanfare to the big screen.
