Star Wars: we finally know the interpreter of Admiral Thrawn in the Ahsoka series and the fans will be overjoyed!

In the first trailer for the Ahsoka series, this iconic character was only seen from behind. We now know which actor embodies this great enemy of the former Jedi knight camped by Rosario Dawson.

Scheduled for August on Disney+, the Star Wars Ahsoka series promises to be a treat for fans of the franchise, especially those who have watched the animated series. This is’Ahsokaa show centered on the character of Ahsoka Tano, introduced in the animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars and in the animated series of the same name.

Disney and Lucasfilm unveiled a first trailer during Star Wars Celebration and other well-known fan characters will be in attendance.

In addition to the former Jedi Knight, played by Rosario Dawson, Disney+ subscribers will have the opportunity to see live-action versions of Ezra Bridger, camped by Eman Esfandi, the Mandalorian Sabine Wren, played by Natasha Liu Bordizzo, and the Twi’lek Hera Syndulla, played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

In this series, set in the aftermath of the fall of the Empire, Ahsoka Tano will investigate a latent threat that could upset the fragile balance of a still vulnerable galaxy… She will encounter many new enemies there, such as the antagonist Baylan Skoll (Ray Stevenson) and his apprentice Shin Hati (Ivanna Sakhno) but also known as the warrior Morgan Elsbeth (Diana Lee Inosanto), who we saw in season 2 of The Mandalorian.

Admiral Thrawn’s interpreter revealed!

But if there’s one iconic antagonist fans have been waiting for, it’s Grand Admiral Thrawn, seen from behind in the series’ first trailer. And it was during Star Wars Celebration, in a panel devoted to the series, that Disney and Lucasfilm officially presented the interpreter of Officer Chiss, who returns to threaten the New Republic to lead a return to the Empire.

This is Lars Mikkelsen, known for his roles in the series The Killing, Sherlock and House of Cards.

This choice is logical and should satisfy fans since it was he who lent his voice to the character of Admiral Thrawn in the animated series Star Wars: Rebels. Fans were treated to a longer version of Ahsoka’s trailer with the reveal of the actor’s face as the Admiral.

Actor Mads Mikkelsen’s older brother caused a stir during the Ahsoka panel at Star Wars Celebration and evidently said he was excited to reprise the role in The Mandalorian spin-off produced by Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau.

The Ahsoka series will be available in August 2023 on Disney+.
