Star Wars: why Taron Egerton refused to play Han Solo

British actor Taron Egerton recently revealed why he refused to play Han Solo, the iconic character from the “Star Wars” saga, on the big screen.

Recently, Taron Egerton revealed why he refused to play Cyclops in X-Men: Apocalypse. Today, the British actor, starring in the Apple series Black Bird, lifts the veil on another role to which he said no, and not just any, since it is Han Solo , the mythical hero of the Star Wars saga popularized by Harrison Ford.

“I’ll be honest, I rode the Millennium Falcon. I was with Chewie. I was in the full Han Solo costume”says Taron Egerton in the Happy Sad Confused podcast. There, I had arrived there, I had done it, I had lived it. But I just didn’t feel it. I just didn’t feel like I was Han Solo.”

“There was a second round of auditions which I decided not to go to”concludes the 32-year-old actor, notably known for his role in the Kingsman saga and his interpretation of Elton John in Rocketman. “It’s now far enough away for me to say so. I hope it doesn’t bother anyone.”

It is finally Alden Ehrenreich who will be chosen to play the intergalactic smuggler in the feature film Solo: A Star Wars Story, centered on the youth of the character and released in theaters in 2018.
