Starbucks: 3% drop in EPS in the 2nd quarter

(CercleFinance.com) – Starbucks announced on Tuesday evening adjusted EPS down just over 3% to 59 cents for its second quarter 2021-22, with an adjusted operating margin reduced by three points to 13%, with lockdowns in China and inflation.

Its revenues rose 15% to $7.6 billion, with a 7% increase on a comparable basis, growth due to a 3% increase in the number of transactions and a 4% increase in the average ticket.

“Given record demand and changes in customer behavior, we are accelerating our store growth plans,” said Howard Schultz, the cafe chain’s founder and interim CEO.
