Starbucks: the new CEO will be appointed this fall

(CercleFinance.com) – Starbucks announced on Monday that it plans to appoint a new chief executive later this fall, with the goal of transitioning its leadership in early 2023.

In a press release published in the morning, the cafe sign indicates that the process of finding a new number one continues to progress well, the formalization of an appointment being expected “in the coming months”.

Once appointed, the new leader will have to fully immerse himself in the company and work ‘directly’ with Howard Schultz, who returned to general management on an interim basis in April. .

The idea is to ensure a handover in the first quarter of 2023, Schultz then being destined to sit on the board of directors of the Seattle group.

The news comes as the Wall Street Journal today reports the company would only consider external candidates for the job, with Schultz insisting on attracting new talent from outside the company.
