StarCraft 2: Dragon Phoenix Gaming Dominates GSL 2022 First Split

2022 Global StarCraft II League Season 1: Code S, SC2, esport, competition, GSL, Valencia Masters 2022, Rogue, creator, trap

Dark and Rogue secure a spot in Valencia Masters 2022, as does Creator, who lost in the GSL Season 1 2022 Finals.

2022’s Global StarCraft II League Season 1: Code S has ended, first split of the GLS for the ESL Pro Tour 2022/2023. And it’s the Zerg again Snape (Dragon Phoenix Gaming) who won. The South Korean, best player in the ranking, had already won Season 1 in 2021, and Super Tournament 3 at the end of the year. Small surprise however in the final, since it is the Protoss of Creator (Team NV) who lost against the champion (4/2). Creator had eliminated Trap (Freecs) in the playoffs in the previous round.

A good competition for Jang “Creator” Hyun-woo, who had to go through a looser bracket during the playoffs, eliminated for the first time by Rogue in a Round of 6 in Bo5. He got his ticket by beating RagnaroK. Thanks to this final, he thus recovers 570 EPT points and $12,000. At last, Dark, who also represented Dragon Phoenix Gaming, finished in 4th place and will leave, like the other three, for GSL Season 2 but also for the 2022 Masters in Valencia on July 1.
