Thanks to the deployment of the 1.5 update, multiplayer has arrived on Stardew Valley, on most gaming platforms. As a result, players can now go through their adventure with others, whether local or in line. Nevertheless, certain parameters must be taken into account and there is a very specific procedure to follow in order to invite or join your friendson Stardew Valley.
So, without further ado, we tell you how to invite your friendsfrom a new save or from your progress, previously made solo, whether online or locally.

Play with friends from a new save
Invite friends online, to a new game
- From the game’s main menu, select “Co-op”.
- Click on “Online”
- Then choose “Host”.
- Click on “Host a new farm”.
- Adjust the different parameters and options, according to your desires and wishes.
- Once in game, don’t forget to build a hut for each of the invited players.
- To do this, visit Robin at the Sawmill and build said farm building.
Invite friends, locally, to a new game.
- From the game’s main menu, select “Co-op”.
- Click on “Split screen”
- Then choose “Host”.
- Click on “Host a new farm”.
- Adjust the different parameters and options, according to your desires and wishes.
- Once in game, plug in a second controller.
- Split-screen will now be enabled and you can play Stardew Valley local multiplayer.
- Don’t forget to build a hut for the second player.
- To do this, visit Robin at the Sawmill and build said farm building.

Play with friends, from a save started in solo
Invite friends online from a single player save
- From the game’s main menu, select “Load”.
- Select the backup of your choice.
- Once in game, be sure to build a cabin for the second player.
- To do this, visit Robin at the Sawmill and build said farm building.
- When the building is built, save your game by going to sleep.
- Quit your game, and go to the game’s main menu.
- This time, select “Co-op”.
- Choose “Online”.
- Then, click on the backup of your choice and not on “Host a new farm”.
- Online multiplayer should then be up and running and you can enjoy Stardew Valley with your friends.
Invite friends locally from a single player save
- From the game’s main menu, select “Load”.
- Select the backup of your choice.
- Once in game, be sure to build a cabin for the second player.
- To do this, visit Robin at the Sawmill and build said farm building.
- When the building is built, go to “Options”.
- Select “Start a local co-op game”.
- Then connect the second controller.
- Split-screen will now be enabled and you can continue your game, in local multiplayer.
