Stardew Valley: Skull Cavern, how to get there? – Stardew Valley

Exploring the mines is a very important activity in Stardew Valley. This allows players to collect various resources and minerals, necessary for the manufacture of this or that item. Thus, it is a compulsory passage and we strongly advise you to quickly go to the Mines of the Mountains, if you start your adventure on Stardew Valley.

However, know that another place, quite similar to a mine, can be explored, after several hours on the title: it is the cave of the skullto be found in the Calico Desert. Without further ado, discover how to get to the Skull Cavern and especially how to open it.

Skull Cavern, tips for getting there

Obtain the Skull Key

In order to open the Skull Cavern, one will need to have some playtime under their belt, as several actions need to be performed. First of all, know that it is imperative to have a very particular object in your inventory. It is, more specifically, the Death’s Head Key. Obtaining it is not easy: you must have completed the Mines, located in the Mountain region, north of Pelican Town. Only upon reaching the 120th floor will players be able to obtain said key. You will probably have understood it, it will already take you some time.

Destination: Calico Desert

Possessing the Skull Key is not enough to access the Skull Cavern. This only allows you to open the door, located at the entrance to said place. However, the Skull Cavern is not available in the first region of Stardew Valley. Indeed, it is necessary to unlock another area of the game, called “the Calico Desert”.

To unlock access to this region, it is imperative to fix the bus stop. The repair conditions will depend on the choice you made at the start of your game, in particular between the Junimos or Joja. If you chose to help the Junimos repair the Community Center, you will need to bring back all the requested items from the Chest deck. On the other hand, if you have decided to form a partnership with Joja, you will have to pay the cost of repairing the Bus Stop via the Joja Community Development Form.

Eventually, once you’ve repaired the Bus Stop, you can go to the Calico Desert. To the north you will find the entrance to the Skull Cavern. If you have the Death’s Head Key, then all you have to do is enter the cave and interact with the door to enter the premises.
