Her ex-husband Nicolas Cage and her close friend Sarah Ferguson said goodbye to Lisa Marie Presley with emotional words.
The sudden death of Lisa Marie Presley (1968-2023) caused shock around the world. The daughter of music legend Elvis Presley (1935-1977) died at the age of only 54. The participation is overwhelming. Numerous stars and companions mourn the singer and express their condolences. The news of Presley’s death also hit ex-husband Nicolas Cage (59) and her close friend Sarah Ferguson (63) hard.
Hollywood star Nicolas Cage and Lisa Marie Presley married in 2002. For the then early 30-year-old, it was the third marriage of four, after marriages to pop star Michael Jackson (1958-2009) and musician Danny Keough (58). However, less than four months after their wedding, Cage and Presley announced their split. The news of his ex-wife’s sudden death hit the 59-year-old deeply. He had his management informedthat it was “devastating news” for him.
Lisa Marie had the greatest laugh I’ve ever seen. “I find some comfort in the thought that she’s reunited with her son,” added Nicolas Cage. Her son Benjamin Keough was from her first marriage to Danny Keough. He took his own life in 2020 at the age of 27.
Sarah Ferguson mourns the loss of her ‘sissy’
The death of her “sister” is also a heavy blow for Sarah Ferguson. The Duchess of York was a close friend of the rock ‘n’ roll legend’s daughter for many years. On Instagram she says goodbye to her companion with touching words. It states that Sarah will say hello to her friend every day and that she loves her “little sister”. “You were my sister, a wonderful mother to Ben, Riley, Harper and Finley, and a most loving daughter to Priscilla. You have been my faithful friend for many years and I am here to support and love your family. Me I’m deeply sad, my sissy, you are in my heart,” writes the 63-year-old.
The list of expressions of grief from the stars is long. Linda Thompson (72), who was in a relationship with Elvis Presley after her marriage to Priscilla (77), also has her grief on Instagram expressed. “My heart is too heavy for words…” Thompson writes, posting a photo of Elvis with his little daughter in his arms. Fashion icon Donatella Versace (67) explained on Instagramthat she will never forget the beauty and kindness of Lisa Marie Presley.
