The Finnish presidential couple is currently traveling through Sweden and was invited to a magnificent banquet by the Swedish royal family on Tuesday evening, April 23, 2024. The Swedish royals and the first lady of Finland, Suzanne Innes-Stubb, 54, impressed with their breathtaking outfits, in which three details particularly stood out.

State banquet in Sweden: Three details stand out

Fashionable play of colors as a sign of diplomacy

A subtle detail particularly catches the eye in the outfits of Crown Princess Victoria, 46, Princess Sofia, 39, and the First Lady of Finland. Princess Sofia wows in a dark blue gown with elegant embroidery by Oscar de la Renta, while First Lady Suzanne Innes-Stubb appears in a golden yellow silk wrap-style dress. The colors of her clothes – blue and yellow – correspond to the colors of the Swedish flag.

But that’s not all: Crown Princess Victoria appeared in a white dress with a glamorous cape element and feather details by Toteme. Together with Princess Sofia’s dress, this also creates a pictorial representation of the white and blue Finnish flag. Pure coincidence or a stylish gesture of solidarity between the two countries?

Queen Silvia: The eye-catcher of the evening

While blue and white dominated this evening, Queen Silvia of Sweden, 80, attracted attention with a color contrast. She chooses a stunning hot pink lace dress with long sleeves from Georg et Arend. It almost seems as if last year’s popular Barbiecore trend has also found its way into Queen Silvia’s wardrobe.

Sustainability in the spotlight

But in addition to the color selection, another element of fashion was also in focus that evening: sustainability. Both Crown Princess Victoria, Princess Sofia and Queen Silvia wore outfits that they have already flaunted at other events, proving once again how timeless fashion can be.
