State of Decay 3 goes to Unreal Engine 5, Gears 5 devs to the rescue

State of Decay 3 had been announced in July 2020 during a Xbox Game Showcasethe title is developed by Undead Labswhich now belongs to Microsoft, and will take us to a snowy region. However, two years later, the information remains meagerand there were reportedly some internal issues during pre-production.

However, things are moving forward, as Matt Booty announced recently. The director of Xbox Game Studios was the guest of Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb’s latest podcast, the opportunity to talk briefly about the game. State of Decay 3 is currently being developed with theUnreal Engine 5the latest generation game engine fromEpic Gamesand The Coalition comes to lend a hand in the studio to help with development. He knows the engine well, several games in the franchise gears are being created under theEU5 and we even had a glimpse of their achievements last summer.
