Roborock announces two new autonomous, but accessible vacuum cleaner and mop robots at CES: the Q Revo Pro and Q Revo MaxV. Cleaning baseboards, washing in hot water, drying mops, they have everything the big ones have, except the price.
After the announcement of the latest flagship, the S8 MaxV Ultra, the brand continues to present its innovations at CES, lifting the veil on the newcomers to the Q Revo range, the Q Revo Pro and Q Revo MaxV. Both are autonomous vacuum cleaner robots, based on the Q Revo, which we already tested last summer. They both benefit from a lot of new features worthy of the most expensive models, despite affordable prices, since they cost less than 1,000 euros, which is far from being the case for most of the competitors.
A proven design
The Roborock Q Revo Pro and Q Revo MaxV both look exactly like the first Q Revo, taking almost identical design from its compact base, with a 4 L clean water tank and a water tank. 3.5 L waste water recovery, both placed on top, without hatch, making access simpler. In the center of the base, there is always a hatch hiding the 2.7 L dust bag, which avoids having to change it frequently. The facade of the station continues to be decorated with a relief pattern, giving it a more elaborate appearance, which allows it to integrate more harmoniously into any type of interior.
The aesthetics of the robot also remain similar to the previous generation, using two circular pads for wet cleaning. In addition, obstacle detection remains in effect, thus avoiding daily disappointments, such as dragged slippers.
Invisible, but innovative new features
Despite an apparent lack of new features, probably due to the reuse of the same molds, Roborock has equipped its two new mid-range robots with useful new features, making cleaning more complete. Whether it is the Pro or MaxV version, the two new Q Revo are now capable of extending the mop pads, which allows them to run more effectively along baseboards and furniture to clean them better, covering a surface area of 98.8% and leaving only 1.85 mm gap with the edges. The new devices are also more powerful, offering 7,000Pa suction power and rotating mops at 200 rotations per minute, also capable of raising 10mm.
The Dock 2.0 station can heat water to 60ºC to thoroughly clean the skates, effectively eliminating bacteria and mold, then dry them at 45ºC to avoid bad odors due to humidity. The level of dirt collected can automatically be detected by the base, allowing a second cleaning if necessary.
Finally, let’s finish with the improvements reserved for the Q Revo MaxV, namely the addition of a camera which allows obstacles to be detected and recognized more effectively thanks to Reactive AI technology, but also live video calls. In addition, this version is equipped with an integrated voice assistant, Hello Rocky, allowing you to control the robot by voice, without having to use Google Assistant or Alexa. Finally, the Q Revo MaxV is also capable of automatically raising its brush roll, thus preventing it from dragging when moving from one room to another, or by using it only in mop mode.
Price and availability
The new models will be available at the end of the first quarter of 2024, starting with the Q Revo MaxV, followed a few weeks later by the Q Revo Pro. Concerning prices, the Pro version remains particularly affordable, with a price of 850 euros, while the MaxV model will be offered at 999 euros.
Just like the first generation, the Q Revo Pro will be available in white or black, while the Q Revo MaxV will only be offered in white.
