Statement by a NATO official: Report: Up to 1500 Russian casualties daily

Information from a NATO official
Report: Up to 1500 Russian casualties daily

According to a high-ranking NATO official, Russia loses hundreds of soldiers every day in Ukraine. According to this, most of the losses occurred in the fierce fighting for the city of Bakhmut. The military is concerned about the supply of ammunition.

For several months now, fighting has been raging around the town of Bakhmut in Ukraine. The Russian attackers are only making slow progress – and have to accept massive losses. But the fighting also continued unabated on other front sections. Again “Guardians“, citing a NATO official, the Western military alliance is currently assuming “1,200, 1,300 to 1,500 casualties” on the Russian side along the front – but especially around Bakhmut. The number of casualties on the Ukrainian defenders’ side is noticeably lower .

According to the report, the NATO employee put the ratio of dead and wounded on the Russian side at 1:3. Between 300 and 400 Russian fighters would lose their lives every day. In addition, there would be 900 to about 1200 injured. In the fighting, thousands of ammunition would continue to be fired on both sides every day. However, the Ukraine would consume more ammunition than the West supplies.

According to further statements, the front line in Bakhmut currently runs along the river, which has become a real death zone. Recently, the shelling would have eased off a bit. The NATO official therefore sees no signs that the defenders would lose the city. There is also a chain of hills to the west to which the Ukrainian defenders could retreat.

The exact timing of Ukraine’s counteroffensive is still unclear. This could happen in a timely manner. According to the “Guardian” report, the Russian side most likely fears an offensive in the north of Luhansk or south of Zaporizhia, according to NATO’s view. The West has not shown any further signs of deadly weapons being delivered to Moscow from China.
