Angelina Jolie (48) speaks out in the Middle East conflict. The actress and former UN ambassador published a detailed statement on her Instagram account.
First, Angelina Jolie makes it clear that she, like “millions of people around the world,” is angry and disgusted by Hamas’s attack on Israeli civilians. She clearly calls this act “terror.” She prays for the safe return of the hostages and especially for the children who were murdered or orphaned.

But the act of terrorism cannot justify the deaths of “innocent civilians” in the Gaza Strip due to Israeli bombs, Angelina Jolie continued. People would have no access to food or water. “There is no possibility of evacuation and not even the basic human right to cross a border.”
In a sign of humanity, Angelina Jolie calls for an immediate ceasefire. “The lives of Palestinians and Israelis – and those of everyone around the world – are equally important,” she writes. She has donated for medical care and supports the organization “Doctors Without Borders.”

In 2001, she came into contact with humanitarian issues for the first time while filming “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider” in Cambodia. From 2001 to 2012, Angelina Jolie was a UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador. She worked there as a special envoy from 2012 and resigned from the position in 2022. It was said that she wanted to work for humanitarian purposes on a broader scale in a statement about her departure.
