Steam passes the 30 million concurrent user mark

For some years, Steam progress is much bigger than beforein particular because of the various confinements, which had the consequence of seeing part of the population turn to video games, solo or multiplayer, like Among Us which was more or less a hit during this period.

And as we’ve seen in recent months, and despite competition from Epic Games, which is trying to afford temporary exclusives to catch up, Steam is progressing, again. On October 23, the platform thus saw the bar of 30 million people connected being crossed, to reach 30,029,342 according to official figures, and 30,032,005, according to Steam DB. These figures are due to the natural progression of Steam, but also the many video game releases in recent weeks, allowing many people to come back, or to launch for the first time on the platform.

For example, in recent days, FIFA 23, Gotham Knights or the transition to free-to-play of The Sims 4 have undoubtedly allowed Steam to see its player base increase. And with the upcoming arrival of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and other major productions, it is not impossible that this record will be broken by the end of the year.

To measure the growth of Steam, know that it took around 15 years for the platform to get 15 million concurrent users, and only five more to double that number. In December 2020, Steam flirted with 25 million, and therefore gained five million users in less than two years, demonstrating that it was indeed the place of video games on PC.

A competition is organized with our partner Instant Gamingwhich allows you to leave with the video game of your choiceof the fifa credits or some V-bucks.
