Steam: the most expensive game costs 2000 euros, but lasts only 2 hours

One of the most expensive video games of all time has just been released on Steam. The Hidden and Unknown, launched on January 23 by independent developers ProX, costs almost 2000 euros.

Indie developer ProX has launched a new Steam game called The Hidden and Unknown, which costs 1949 euros. There are all kinds of expensive games on Steam, but that sky-high price of almost $2,000 makes it the most expensive game on Valve’s digital store.

Unsurprisingly, given its price, you’re not expected to scramble to buy it, and imagine that its developer even recommends you not to do it. ” I don’t think anyone will buy it says ProX in an interview with PCGamesN. He adds that in fact he ” would discourage anyone from buying it if they can’t afford it, I don’t want to cause any trouble “.

The life of the game does not exceed 2 hours

Described as a ” story-based game, which aims to broaden the perception of its audience in the fields of psychology and philosophy », we can at first sight expect an enriching experience. However, the players were not at the end of their surprises.

The short trailer on the game’s official Steam page shows a red and blue background with the words “history, unpredictable, prediction, future and mystery” before they were removed and replaced with “guaranteed confusion.” At the bottom of the game’s Steam description, we can read the following disclaimer: “If you often feel offended instead of reacting rationally, avoiding this game would be a wise action..”

As with every unusual new product on the market, some players decided to buy the game, but they were quickly very disappointed. Indeed, they discovered that the life of the game was less than two hours. The worst thing is that these two hours begin with a Star Wars-like opening scroll that lasts no less than eight minutes.

If this may seem at first glance to be a real scam, the developer still wants to remind you that this low lifespan allows you to request a full refund. Indeed, Steam allows its users tobe reimbursed if they spend less than two hours on a new game. Unfortunately, we remind you that it is still impossible to resell your dematerialized games outside of reimbursement.
