Steam: Valve reveals the 100 games that brought in the most money in 2022 on the platform

For some years, Valve would like to celebrate the past year by revealing which games have been the most talked about, or rather those which have printed the most greenbacks. Rather than revealing the best sales of the year, the company revealed what were the 100 games that generated the highest gross revenue on the platformin order to account for free-to-play and their different economic model from that of premium games.

Free-to-play at the party

These 100 games are placed in four different categories without any real pre-established classification within these headings. We simply know that in the Platinum category, we find the 12 most profitable games of 2022, while the Gold category includes those between 13th and 24th place, then the Silver category which goes from 25th to 50th place, and the Bronze which finishes the classification.

The list of the 100 most successful games of 2022 should not come as a surprise given that it includes titles that have been very popular for years, such as PUBG, Apex Legends Where DOTA 2but you can still find quite a few newcomers there that fall directly into the platinum category, such as Elden Ring Where Dying Light 2.

Here are the 12 games that brought in the biggest gross revenue in 2022 on Steam (random ranking):

  • monster hunter rise
  • Elden Ring
  • Destiny 2
  • PUBG
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II
  • Lost Ark
  • Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

You can see the full ranking by visiting the dedicated Steam page.
