On Steelrising, it is possible to obtain the compass, an item allowing you to display the destination you must reach to progress in your current quest. Unlocking it is not difficult in itself. However, if you don’t know where to find it, here are two ways to get compass on the latest title from the Spiders studio, Steelrising.
Obtain the compass on Steelrising
Find the compass at Saint-Cloud estate
Retrieve compass on Steelrising is not difficult, don’t worry right away. You will also have the opportunity to recover it very quickly, in the first hours of play. To do this, you must have advanced in the Queen’s domain, that is to say Saint-Cloud . After your first confrontation against a semi-boss, “the Unstable Lancer Sentinel”, you will arrive in a new area. As you walk through it, you will come across a wooden infrastructure, which is Demosthenes’ lantern (image below).
It is at the foot of this building still under construction that you will find a chest. By opening it and picking up its contents, you will then get compass, a tool that could be greatly useful for the rest of your adventure. Be careful, this chest is guarded by a few enemies, which we recommend you eliminate first.
Buy the compass from a Vestal Virgin
If you’ve already made it to your next destination (Les Invalides) and missed that chest, but don’t feel like going back to Saint-Cloud, don’t panic. There is another way to get compasson Steelrising. Indeed, by going to a vestal, you will have the opportunity to buy compass in the shop. It is sold for 200 Manes. Note however that the item is obviously not offered for sale, via the store of the very first Vestal Virgin, in Saint-Cloud.
What is the compass for in Steelrising?
As you probably already guessed, it’s using compass that you can get an idea of your next destination, based on your tracked quests. If you do not wish to take advantage of this tool, you will have to find your way by yourself, in particular by referring to the descriptions of the quests in your journal. So, in any case, the compass is quite important and can greatly help you if you are lost, on Steelrising.
The in-game description of the compass is, by the way, very interesting and is as follows:
Displays the destination. Of recent design, this compass comes from the Vaucanson workshop. Of an alchemical nature, it establishes a direct link with the spirit of its user and automatically points in the direction of the objective that the latter has set for himself. However, due to the mysterious discomfort caused by this brilliant invention, it did not enjoy the expected success.
