Stef: extension of the surface area of a northern site – 06/14/2024 at 3:55 p.m.

(CercleFinance.com) – The refrigerated food transport specialist Stef announced on Friday that it had inaugurated the extension of nearly 3,000 m2 of its Carvin site in Nord Pas-de-Calais.

In a press release, the logistics group explains that the project meets the growing development needs of its customers from the food industry, distribution, retail and out-of-home catering.

Located 20 minutes from Lille, with direct access to the A1, the Carvin site, commissioned in 2000, now has a surface area of 6,750 m2.

Every day, 650 tonnes of food goods are delivered locally (Nord and Pas-de-Calais), as well as 700 tonnes of goods which are shipped to France and Europe.

Beyond transport and storage activities, its 270 employees prepare orders for all types of processed industrial food products (meat, dairy, fruit and vegetables, catering).

Stef points out that 40% of the site’s fleet runs on biofuel made from French rapeseed, which represents 17 tractors/straighters in service.

The roof of the extension was also designed to eventually accommodate photovoltaic panels.
