Stefanie Heinzmann’s hair has recently been extremely short. There was a serious background to reaching for the razor.
Long hair and usually large, eye-catching glasses: That’s how singer Stefanie Heinemann (32) was known so far. Recently, however, the “Sing my Song” participant shaved off her hair and is now wearing it raspy short. The new look even has a serious background, as Heinemann has now revealed.
“When I was 17, I really wanted to be bald. We women in particular define ourselves very much through our hair. Women with long hair are feminine, women with short hair are not. At some point I was fed up with that,” explains the singer Interview with the “Bild” newspaper.
Reaching for the razor felt “just right”, the singer remembers: “Since I’ve had short hair, I’ve found myself incredibly feminine.” Both her mother and father were initially shocked by the radical change in look. But both would have quickly come to terms with it. Her father stroked her head and said: “That looks good on you.”
