Stellantis: banking on the rise of the circular economy

(CercleFinance.com) – Stellantis NV announced yesterday the implementation of a global plan which should enable its Circular Economy ‘Business Unit’ to generate ‘more than 2 billion euros in turnover by 2030 while contributing to the company’s ambitious goal of achieving a neutral carbon footprint by 2038’.

The Circular Economy Business Unit’s main objectives are to extend the life of vehicles and spare parts and to reintegrate end-of-life materials and vehicles into the manufacturing process of new vehicles and products.

This methodology complements the principles of ‘Design for the circular economy’ at the base of the new Citroën ‘oli’, a multi-use family concept car offering ‘optimal and limited use of lightweight and recycled materials’ for ‘extended service life and enhanced end-of-life recyclability.

The Circular Economy Business Unit of Stellantis plans an ‘ambitious’ development of the volume of its activities as well as a deployment in new countries, while continuing to favor ‘constant innovation and the training of its employees in new technologies’.
