Stellantis: expands its production capacities in Italy

(CercleFinance.com) – Stellantis announced yesterday that its Cassino (Italy) plant, the cradle of premium and luxury vehicles of the Alfa Romeo and Maserati brands, would expand its activities to the production of ‘new vehicles based on the BEV STLA Large platform ‘.

Details regarding the models will be communicated at a later date.

As a teaser, Carlos Tavares, CEO of Stellantis, only says that ‘vehicles designed on STLA platforms will revolutionize the driving experience thanks to advanced features and capabilities’.

Cassino is the second Stellantis site officially designated to produce vehicles based on the STLA Large platform, joining the Windsor assembly plant in Canada.

As a reminder, STLA Large is one of the four BEV (battery electric vehicle) platforms on which Stellantis’ electrification strategy is based.

Stellantis plans to invest more than 30 billion euros in electrification and software by 2025, in order to produce electric vehicles (BEV) capable of meeting customer expectations, particularly in terms of ultra-fast charging.
