Stellantis: operational director appointed in North America – 01/16/2024 at 10:06

(CercleFinance.com) – Stellantis announced on Tuesday that it had appointed Carlos Zarlenga as director of operations for North America, replacing Mark Stewart, in order to strengthen and improve the group’s performance in the region.

Carlos Zarlenga – who has more than a decade of experience in the automotive sector as well as solid financial expertise – joined Stellantis in 2022 as president of the manufacturer’s Mexican branch.

In this role, he improved sales volume, market share and profitability year over year, reaching the best profit level ever recorded in Mexico.

His appointment will be effective February 1.

‘In the very demanding North American market and with many obstacles to overcome to strengthen the group’s performance, Carlos Zarlenga is the best leader among our talent pool to replace Mark Stewart and lead the change in our business model towards electrification in this region,’ said Carlos Tavares, CEO of Stellantis.

Coming from Fiat Chrysler, Mark Stewart took up his position three years ago, when Stellantis was created, after having previously spent a short stint at Amazon.
