Hollywood stars mourn Broadway legend

Stephen Sondheim died at the age of 91. Many stars from film, television and theater mourn the Broadway legend.
Broadway legend Stephen Sondheim (1930-2021) has died at the age of 91. The mourning for the famous lyricist, composer and songwriter is great. During his career, Sondheim won several Tony and Grammy Awards as well as an Oscar (for the song “Sooner or Later” from the film “Dick Tracy”). In the 1950s he wrote the lyrics to “West Side Story” and later composed musicals such as “A Little Night Music”, “Into the Woods” and “Sweeney Todd”.
Many big stars from film, television and theater mourn Sondheim on social media. Among other things wrote Hugh Jackman (53): “Every now and then there is someone who fundamentally changes an entire art form. Stephen Sondheim was one of them.” The actor added: “Millions mourn for him, I would also like to express my gratitude for everything he has given me and many others.”
“A giant”
Andrew Lloyd Webber (73) called Sondheim is the “music theater giant” of our time and “an inspiration not just for two, but for three generations”. Nobody will surpass his contribution to the theater. Barbra Streisand (79) stated on Twitter: “Thank God Sondheim turned 91 years old so that he had the time to write such wonderful music and GREAT lyrics! May he rest in peace.”
