Fire Extinguisher: Be prepared for emergencies
In the event of a fire, a smoke detector should warn in good time so that everyone present can react early. However, this does not eliminate the danger. Here often only a fire extinguisher helps – and many forget it. Even if a fire extinguisher hangs in the apartment or house, it is often already expired because the devices have to be replaced regularly. In addition, not all fire extinguishers are the same. There are different models depending on the type of fire. A distinction is made here according to fire class:
Fire class A: Suitable for solid organic substances that form embers when burned. These include wood, paper, straw, textiles, coal, car tires.

Fire class B: Suitable for liquid or liquid substances such as petrol, benzene, oils, paint, tar and alcohol.

Fire class C: In particular, burning gases are classified, for example methane, propane, hydrogen, natural gas or town gas.

Fire class D: This is used to extinguish metal fires, such as aluminum and magnesium. Fire extinguishers of this fire class are not usually used in private households, but in industry. Caution: You must not extinguish these fires with water.
Fire class F: This refers to fat fires, such as cooking oils and frying fat that often occur in the pan or on the grill. Caution: You must not extinguish these fires with water.
