Stihl upgrades its iMOW connected robot mowers with six new models

The manufacturer of garden equipment and garden tools Stihl has announced the arrival of new models of connected robot mowers for individuals. This is not a first since the brand has been offering its iMOW products since 2010, in particular the iMow RMI 422 PC and its variations that we had the opportunity to test.

For the design of these new robots, STIHL says it has taken into account the expectations of individuals following the various confinements and underlines that the robot mower is a tool that is still poorly known to consumers.

Thus the six new models – more exactly three which each have their own EVO version – have been designed to be easily used with five buttons and the MY iMOW application to control them. The cutting height is also adjustable via the software with an amplitude between two and six centimeters.

On the cutting side, STIHL highlights its patented Discus blade system and the so-called “mulching” process which consists of mowing without picking up the grass. This is chopped into fine particles and spread over the lawn. In addition to the aesthetic aspect, this technique also makes it possible to feed the soil in a natural way by decomposing the blades of grass. The user can change the blades himself in a safe way and without using a tool.

Emphasis is also placed on the speed of execution thanks to the optimization of movements. The automatic return to the station is done in different ways: in a straight line, using a perimeter wire or with a guide wire. In addition to saving time, this optimizes the use of the battery and reduces the traces of passage of the robot.

Finally, each of the three models is available in EVO versions which are already distinguished by the design by adopting a gray bonnet instead of white for the classic versions. More expensive, they are also faster and benefit from an integrated 4G connection without the need to take out a subscription. They also support slopes of 45% instead of 40%, or even those of 60% with an additional kit.

You will have to wait until the beginning of 2023 to hope to see one of these three robots strolling through your garden. This leaves time to make some savings since the most affordable price is set at 1999 € for the model designed for surfaces up to 1500 m².

  • iMOW 5 (1500 m² maximum): €1999 or €2599 for the EVO version
  • iMOW 6 (3000 m² maximum): €2699 or €3299 for the EVO version
  • iMOW 7 (5000 m² maximum): €3799 or €4399 for the EVO version
