STMicroelectronics: making cabins quieter

(CercleFinance.com) – STMicroelectronics is making cars more acoustically comfortable with its new sensor for eliminating road noise (RNC) through active noise control (ANC) techniques.

While electric vehicles are inherently quieter than cars with internal combustion engines, automakers are working to further reduce cabin noise from wheels or vibrations.

‘In the digital age, canceling – not drowning out – unwanted sound is the smart way to ensure a quieter cabin for safer and more enjoyable journeys,’ says Simone Ferri, Chief Marketing Officer, MEMS and Sensors Group, STMicroelectronics.

ST has used its expertise in micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) integrated circuits to provide the AIS25BA with superior features to improve system accuracy.
