Main values to follow on Friday on Wall Street where futures contracts on the main indices suggest an opening higher
0.34% for the Dow Jones, 0.33% for the Standard & Poor’s 500 and 0.11% for the Nasdaq
* TENET HEALTHCARE announced Friday the sale of three of its hospitals and related operations in South Carolina for approximately $2.4 billion in cash, in an effort to reduce its debt. The stock was up 4.9% before the opening.
* ELI LILLY extended on Friday until December 1 the deadline granted to POINT BIOPHARMA GLOBAL shareholders to sell their shares to it, due to low participation in its buyout offer. In October, Lilly announced plans to acquire Point Biopharma in an all-cash deal valued at $1.4 billion. The company also said on Friday it would build its first production plant in Germany for 2.3 billion euros.
* FMC – The manufacturer of phytosanitary products has launched a strategic review of its activities and could go so far as to decide to sell its non-agricultural activities. The company also released its guidance for 2024 on Thursday. FMC expects revenue between $4.65 billion and $4.85 billion, compared to $4.70 billion expected by analysts.
* GAP soars 20% in pre-market trading after reporting results above expectations on Thursday evening. The ready-to-wear group, however, said it expected sales to be lower than estimates for the current quarter, including the end-of-year holidays.
* APPLIED MATERIALS falls 7.3% in after-hours trading as the semiconductor equipment maker is under investigation for deliveries to Chinese chipmaker SMIC via South Korea in alleged violation of American export rules.
* CHARGEPOINT HOLDINGS plunges 24% in pre-market trading after the electric vehicle charging network provider lowered its quarterly revenue forecast and announced the appointment of Rick Wilmer as CEO, with immediate effect.
* ALIBABA fell another 3.9% in pre-stock market trading in reaction to the abandonment of its plan to list its cloud computing division.
* APOLLO GLOBAL MANAGEMENT – Panasonic Holdings said on Friday it was considering selling part of its automotive systems business to funds managed by the American private equity firm Apollo.
* META PLATFORMS on Thursday launched two new artificial intelligence (AI)-based features for video editing that could be used for posting to Instagram or Facebook.
* MERCK & CO – Bayer AG is not responsible for allegations arising from certain lawsuits relating to talc-based foot powder products that it acquired from the American group in a 14.2 transaction billion dollars in 2014, Delaware’s highest court ruled Thursday.
* BOEING announced Thursday evening that Marc Allen, the group’s director of strategy, would leave the aircraft manufacturer in 2024.
* AIRBNB – Evercore ISI lowers its recommendation from “outperform” to “perform in line”.
* CHEVRON – Gerdes Energy Research raises its recommendation from “neutral” to “buy”.
