Stocks to follow on Wall Street (updated)

PARIS, October 2 (Reuters) – Main stocks to follow on Monday on Wall Street where futures contracts on the main indices suggest an opening down 0.04% for the Dow Jones and up 0.02% for the Standard & Poor’s 500 and 0.2% for the Nasdaq:

* WALMART announced on Saturday that it would rationalize job titles within its staff, which in some cases will be accompanied by salary increases.

* European competition services have not opened a formal investigation into chips used for artificial intelligence, the European Commission said on Monday, after searches in France targeted NVIDIA for possible anti-competitive practices.

*Bookings made on ONLINE BOOKING PLATFORMS in the European Union hit records during the second quarter of 2023, with short-stay bookings made through AIRBNB, BOOKING, EXPEDIA or TRIPADVISOR surging by 15.8% over one year, Eurostat announced.

* VIATRIS – The pharmaceutical company announced on Sunday agreements to sell some of its activities for a total amount of up to $3.6 billion, as part of its long-term strategy to focus on three therapeutic areas.

* MGM – Workers at three Detroit casinos, including one owned by MGM, voted to authorize a strike, if necessary, the United Auto Workers (UAW) union and the Teamsters announced Saturday.

* CRYPTOASSET-related stocks are up ahead of the open, with bitcoin hitting a nearly two-month high. Cryptocurrency miner RIOT PLATFORMS is up 9.1%, MICROSTRATEGY 6.0%.

* ELI LILLY – The US Food and Drug Administration has refused to approve the group’s drug to treat a type of skin disease. The group lost 0.6% before the opening.

* HOLLYSYS AUTOMATION TECHNOLOGIES, a Chinese manufacturer of automation and control systems, announced on Monday the creation of a special committee to review a $1.55 billion buyout offer and the launch of a sale process .

* NVIDIA advances 1.5% before the opening, Goldman Sachs having raised its recommendation from “buy” to “conviction buy”.

* DATADOG advances 3.3% before the opening, Piper Sandler having raised its recommendation from “neutral” to “overweight”.

* TOAST – Mizuhio lowers its recommendation from “buy” to “neutral”. The stock lost 1.9% before the opening.

* ZSCALER – Piper Sandler raises her recommendation to “overweight”. The title gained 3.3% before the opening.
