Stolen liquor – Drunk burglar lay motionless in the forest

A burglar, who was completely drunk and motionless in a forest, found a police patrol in Upper Styria on Tuesday morning. Witnesses had sounded the alarm. Next to the 32-year-old Czech lay several empty liquor bottles and an open cash desk. Shortly afterwards, a break-in in a nearby café was reported.

At around 7 a.m., the patrol was ordered to a forest in the Aiching area in St. Michael, as a motionless man would be lying there. The officers finally met a 32-year-old from the Czech Republic who was apparently heavily drunk on the floor. Next to the man, the police found an open cash desk and several empty liquor bottles.

Confessed burglary
Immediately afterwards, a break-in was reported by telephone in a café in the Liesingtal area. As it turned out, the cash desk that had been broken into came from this place. The 32-year-old was arrested. When he was questioned, the Czech confessed fully. He was shown at large by order of the Leoben public prosecutor’s office.
